Miami Tackles Affordable Housing
The City of Miami is asking the Chinese to help solve their affordable housing problems.
Some housing developments will be funded, in part, by a special visa program.
The program grants green cards to foreigners who invest at least $500,000 to those businesses or construction jobs that create American jobs.
Called the EB-5 program, it is looked after via Homeland Security.
This program is looking to build housing for Miami’s teachers, firefighters and policemen.
Although it’s becoming increasingly popular, this program does have its critics.
They feel it gives foreign folks a leg up in getting their green card.
