1. When Drought Happens

The ecology landscape changes dramatically when an area experiences drought conditions.

  • Wildfires of horrific proportions canvas the area.
  • Lakes and smaller bodies of water dry up.
  • Animals and insects are forced out of the area in search of water, food, and shelter.
  • Toxic algae bloom increases due to warm temperatures, low levels of water and higher levels of nutrients.

2.The Rains Finally Came

At the beginning of 2017, rain started to fall. It didn’t stop. The rains brought new dangers of washouts, mudslides, floods, and new growth.

3.Wildflowers Are Making A Huge Comeback

In Southern California, no less than 39 out of 80 wildflower sites burned. But, here’s the upside. Fires release seeds that were in dormancy. The combination of fire and much-needed rain sparked a massive super bloom visible from space.
