When it comes to the best nightlife and attractions, the default go to choice tends to be Miami-Dade County’s South Beach. For those of us who like to expand our options and not settle for the norm, the on the rise downtown Fort Lauderdale area in Broward County, home to plenty of shopping, art museums, nightclubs, bars and fine restaurants offers a comparable if not better experience than the one found down south.
Shopping sites like the open air Las Olas Riverwalk and the events such as the Winterfest Boat Parade plus entertainment like Art Bar dance club and the American cuisine dining of Shula’s on the Beach provide a well rounded lifestyle. Fort Lauderdale’s beach is also becoming a much frequented substitute to the regularly jam-packed Miami Beach and its abundant but costly collection of real estate.
Downtown Fort Lauderdale has luxurious condominiums like Harbourage Place, the Las Olas Grand, the Le Club International and Point of Americas as well as single family homes and townhomes and rental property in equal measure. You’ll notice that the majority of these carry price tags well below those found in Miami Beach.
